Military Airlift 2013

Delivering Greater Strategic and Tactical Airlift Capabilities through Pooling and Sharing

With growing operational demands being placed on armed forces around the world and an increasingly uncertain operational environment, it is imperative that our strategic and tactical airlift capabilities are prepared to project our forces to distant theaters on short notice.

Now in its tenth year, Defence IQ is proud to announce that Military Airlift 2013 will take place at Melsbroek Air Base, Belgium in cooperation with the 15th Air Transport Wing of the Belgian Air Component, who are celebrating their 65th anniversary alongside 40 years of service for the C-130 and Falcon DA-20 fleet.

This year we will focus on pooling and sharing (smart defence) as well as providing you with a comprehensive update on the current state of Europe's strategic and tactical airlift capabilities. The event will deliver a holistic overview of airlift capabilities from our most-comprehensive speaker line up to date, addressing the key challenges encountered in operations over the past 12 months - including Afghanistan, Mali, Greenland and more

Military Airlift 2013 will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Understand what the latest and future strategic plans to expand pooling and sharing programmes between nations to address the current growing airlift capability gap from different perspectives such as NATO, Netherlands, Belgium and Italy
  • Discover new partnerships with military and non-military organisations to develop together new innovative solutions for key challenges such as avionic upgrades, air-air communications, defensive countermeasures and  refuelling in-flight in an increasingly cost conscious environment
  • Get the latest developments from the frontline into the withdrawal of airlift equipment from Afghanistan exploring key challenges such as high demand on limited airlift assets and balancing resources for urgent operational needs. Learn how you organisation can assist in the withdrawal?
